Prime minister tries to avoid LIME strike

The prime minister of Barbados, Freundel Stuart, has negotiated a compromise agreement with staff of telco Cable & Wireless (LIME), who have threatened to strike, reports BNamericas citing Caribseek. The agreement with the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) must now be approved by LIME's management, which had previously offered a 7% pay increase in reply to the union’s demand for 17%, which the union rejected.
