Rwanda doubles international capacity under contract with TTCL

Rwanda has signed a USD6.7 million ten-year contract with Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) for the provision of an additional 1.244Gbps of international bandwidth to improve the country’s internet connectivity, The East African reports. The additional bandwidth is expected to double Rwanda’s international capacity, which is currently estimated in the range of 1.1Gbps-1.2Gbps. ‘We want to make sure that there is sufficient and affordable internet capacity on the Rwandan market so that we get to a point where internet bandwidth is a commodity
