Armenian broadband access provider UCOM LLC plans to increase its service coverage to the rest of the capital Yerevan by the end of 2012, UCOM director Hayk Yesayan told journalists yesterday. Yesayan confirmed that expansion work to connect the city’s apartments in high-rise buildings to its network will be completed within the next two months, following which it will ‘start connecting 53,000 privately-owned houses in the capital,’ he said. Last month CommsUpdate reported that the operator had completed its latest network expansion, connecting the Achapnyak district in Yerevan to offer homes and businesses in the area access to its broadband connections at speeds ranging from 8Mbps to 24Mbps.
