UK-based Virgin Mobile has announced the launch of wireless operations in Chile. Virgin offers its services via a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Spain’s Telefonica Moviles Chile, which operates under the Movistar banner. Virgin offers pre-paid data, voice, SMS and MMS services and is targeting the youth segment by offering additional benefits such as access to discounts on brand products and concert and event tickets.
