The Japanese personal handyphone (PHS) wireless operator Willcom is planning to revamp its service offering with a network expansion and a new dual-mode handset which will work on its own PHS system as well as the mobile data network of partner Softbank. According to a report from The Nikkei, customers will be charged a flat fee of JPY4,860 (USD60.12) a month for a dual-mode service offering unlimited voice calls up to ten minutes duration. There are also plans to introduce an Android-based dual-mode smartphone later this year
