Deutsche Telekom, which provides fixed and mobile services under the banner Telekom Deutschland, has announced it has begun the deployment of a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network for housing association Deutsche Annington Immobilien in the city of Bochum. Under the first phase of the project, around 42,000 apartments in North Rhine-Westphalia will be connected to the high speed network, which supports maximum data transmission rates of 200Mbps, by 2013
