Macedonia’s national telecoms regulator the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) has announced that it is lowering the cost of incumbent operator Makedonski Telekom (MakTel’s) fixed wholesale services for terminating a fixed telephony call, as well as for fixed network and broadband internet access. MIA reports that the cuts in the wholesale charges amount to a 25% drop in the cost of terminating a fixed line call, while the wholesale price for fixed network access will come down by almost 37% and broadband access charges will fall by an average 27%.
