Sutel frees up telecoms pricing structure

Costa Rica’s telecoms regulator Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (Sutel) has relaxed price limitations on 202 services to allow providers more control over pricing strategy. According to Inside Costa Rica, Sutel eliminated its price floor on services such as changing a number (previously CRC760 plus taxes) or replacing a SIM card (CRC1,996). In addition, caller ID was deemed a right of the consumer which operators are obliged to provide for no extra charge
